Summary: I would recommend this. It came with fairly detailed instructions. Make sure your case is wide enough and I'd recommend the metal rather than plastic mounts, the plastic ones tend to bend the fins of the heatsink.
Pros: -They've got to be huge to dissipate heat, so that's a positive -Fairly easy / painless to install. Less feeling that I'm about to crush the processor than with Intel's stock cooling - Kept temps very low (top I saw was 43) and is very silent thanks to the large diameter fan.
Cons: - Difficult to mount fan on heat sink - Some confusion over direction it should be mounted on proc... apparently the answer is however it fits around everything else. - Hard to work around in case once installed if needed due to size. Interferes with either video card, 8 pin 12V connector, or mem...
Pros: -Cools as good as a cheap liquid cooler -SILENTT -measure before you buy, people complaining it's too big--- its your fault. -Will fit in most mid atx -almost cools like the noctua which is double the price, plus this is again a lot more quiet -easy to install
Cons: - product worked but package came a bit beat up
Pros: Works like a charm. and was easy to install, In my case I did not have to remove the mother board. Running with the AMD 8350 8 Core 4 gig CPU with original CPU Fan Was having problem with overheating when I went on a social site and played some games, Was getting notices of the CPU hitting 65c, n...
Cons: Well it’s not really a con but if you don’t measure properly it can be a major con and you probably will windup having to return it. This unit is huge, make Shure it fits before you order. Do not do the, it will fit there all the same attitude, this one is BIG it takes up all the space over the C...
Summary: I wish they would put a picture of a coffee cup or something next to the product picture. Even though they clearly list the size, it's hard to know how big it is. This is true for all online ordering, not just newegg.
Pros: It cools great for overclocking and is quiet.
Cons: It's Huge. Too big unless you have have a full case imo, although you could shoe horn this thing in a mid-case I am sure, you will not be able to access any further upgrades, and in my case the graphics card was too big.
Summary: I wonder why they didnt cut off the extra bit on the fins. Then it would fit on most motherboards. I have an older motherboard with 2 RAM slots and it fits in that one but is completely unusable since that motherboard is 'out of order'. My new motherboard has 4 slots so heatsink doesnt fit.
Cons: The fins were about 1cm to 2cm too big. If the the extra fins were removed or cut off, it would have fit and worked. The RAMs where in the way and there is no point using the heatsink without the RAMs.
Summary: I was lucky i bought a midsize board and midsize case. I cannot fathom even trying to stuff this in anything smaller than my case. Installation was a great deal more complicated, but still relatively easy.
Pros: Silent, cool and effective, comes with everything you need to attach this beefcake to your processor/motherboard, comes with thermal paste.
Cons: Monstrously huge, considerably more complicated than the OEM heatsink, overcrowds the PC case and makes installing other components more difficult, if not impossible in some circumstances.
