COOLER MASTER RR-212X-20PM-R1 120mm 4th Generation Bearing CPU Cooler Model: RR-212X-20PM-R1

William I., Newegg

  • Summary: Received it within 3 days of ordering, packed good with other items I had ordered. No damage from Shipping (that's awesome) Thank You NewEgg!!!!!
  • Pros: Works on my Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W BX80648I75930K processor. Keeping all the core temps at or below 30c. Fan is quiet and easy to remove if needed for cleaning. Comes with Hardware to Add Additional Fan.
  • Cons: It can not be emphasized enough just how big this cooler is, as stated by many others here make sure your case is big enough. I put this in a ATX File Server Case and it is just behind the side panel with about 1" to spare. Instructions are a little confusing, even the pdf you can download isn't'...

EXCELLENT COOLER

MICHAEL C., Newegg
  • Summary: I would recommend this cooling fan. It is a big boy, so measure carefully and make sure you have the clearance for you memory and other junk. I decided that a water cooled system just was not worth the trouble and potential leaks and burn out. This works just as well.
  • Pros: Wow! This really does the trick to keep my Skylake processor cool. Very good design to dissipate heat.
  • Cons: None

cools well

Andrew K., Newegg
13 March 2016
  • Summary: MSI Z170 mobo 16 gb DDR4 2133 MSI radeon R9 380 I56600K this cooler. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 eggs was because of the install design, this will be the last cooler I ever buy from cooler master.
  • Pros: It cools the CPU great, keeps it around 23c normal use and around 30 during heavy gaming, I don't use benchmark software never have so I don't have temps under a huge load. But for a normal gamer use, this cooler is great for a I56600K skylake overclocked to 4.1. I never saw the CPU go over 38 du...
  • Cons: Install design puts the motherboard at risk of damage, especially the cheaper boards that are thin, you have to screw the standoffs into the back plate and there is nothing to protect the motherboard finish from the standoffs. SO be careful and don't torque them down to much. Directions like the ...

Massive

Carson M., Newegg
8 March 2016
  • Summary: I always love reading the reviews about f-18's and f-16's taking off. I haven't experienced this yet with this one.
  • Pros: -This thing is huge and should have no issue getting heat out of the system. -At first I thought it was hard to install but than I realized I was just being a .....
  • Cons: - Assuming this fan blows THROUGH the heatsink, it would be nice it they provided some input on which way to blow it. I figured for mine to blow it to the top of the case because I have an overhead exhaust fan. But if you have your heatsink mounted, rotated 90 degress from the way mine is, blowin...

Shipped damaged

Gregory H., Newegg
5 March 2016
  • Summary: I'm not much of a cooler master fan to begin with. This experience only reinforces my lack of enthusiasm for them. I understand if a product gets handled roughly in the mail and damaged the product but given the packaging within the box, I no amount of mishandling could cause the heatsing blades to...
  • Pros: None. Never installed it
  • Cons: The vent pipes were noticeably damaged. Half of them were what I would describe as crushed. There top plate on the heatsink had scuffs on it as well. Never installed it so only cons here. The price definitely reflects how the quality of the product felt. RMAed it immediately. Possibly just bad lu...

Great Cooler! Needs a better Manual!

Jacob K., Newegg
18 February 2016
  • Summary: I got this to fit in a corsair spec 03 case thanks to its bowing side panels and my corsair vengeance ram stick were luckily placed in slots 2 and 4 on my motherboard. The ram stick's height did not hinder the cooler performance and the amount of room between the cooler's copper heat pipes and the...
  • Pros: - Keeps CPU temps cooler than the stock fan it comes with - Has 1 spare fan mounting bracket in case you choose to do a push pull config - Sock fan that comes with this cooler is great and has low noise - Fan brackets make changing fans on this cooler easier
  • Cons: - The instructions manual it comes with feels lazy by showing pictures on how to put the cooler on different CPU sockets. This is not the first time Cooler Master has shoved this instructions manual into their packaging and wish a better implementation on an instruction manual was present. Recomm...

Need Good Instructions Now available from Web

Robert Y., Newegg
25 December 2015
  • Summary: Why the manufacturer put terrible instructions in the box but decent instructions on the web site is a puzzle. Download the online version and you will be happy with this great fan AND the install experience
  • Pros: I left a previous review saying this is a great and quiet fan, and it is, but slamming the horrible instructions
  • Cons: Since my install I found much better instructions at the manufacturers web site at http://www.coolermaster.com/xresserver01-DLFILE-P1302200001ef9c-F1303100008e95c.html. Download these instructions. I did not use many unidentified parts during my install, parts I now know I should have used based ...

Fantastic Fan with Terrible Instructions

Robert Y., Newegg
24 December 2015
  • Summary: I would buy this again because of the near silent performance and the BIG drop in CPU temp. It exceeded my expectations. Only the instructions were a problem.
  • Pros: Dropped my Althon XP from 46 degrees C to 32 degrees C, and with almost no noise. That's fantastic!! It is running around 850 RPM but will go higher if needed as the speed is variable.
  • Cons: It fit my case but it is huge. You would need a full sized tower to fit it in. The instructions were only cartoon drawings but NO TEXT. Just figure out your picture. All instructions were in cartoon format; NO TEXT. Cartoons for AMD and Intel CPU's were separate but for AMD I had many many parts ...

Great product from cooler master!

Mayur Lakhadive, Amazon

  • Summary: I'm using this with my AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE. Ambient - 39~40 Idle Temp: stock cooler - 55 hyper 212x - 44 I got 12 degrees drop in the temperature. The cooler is heavy and massive in size so be wary to take out your motherboard and then install it.
