Excerpt: I purchased an AMD FX-8350 CPU a couple months ago with no intention of upgrading from the stock cooler, however I quickly discovered that the noise of the stock cooler was virtually intolerable when the system was under load (in my case when I was trying to record gameplay).
Excerpt: I purchased this fan for my build, upon opening the package I was fairly surprised to see that it was larger than my hand. The fan works very well however I had to rearrange my RAM to get everything to fit.
Excerpt: A great cooling fan, very quiet and powerful. I recommend measuring your case before purchase, for me the heat sink is so tall it touches the case door. This does not short the CPU but it may cause noise or other problems depending on the case you are using.
Excerpt: I bought this to replace a Cooler Master Xtreme that had a snapped plastic retaining module after several years of use. Firstly overall build quality is excellent but is let down by a poorly finished contact face which if polished up should reduce temperatures by a couple of degrees.
Summary: All tests were done using prime95 on blend setting. 1.2v @ 4.5Ghz 1.275v @ 4.7Ghz Excellent for the price but not beefy enough for more extreme overclocks. I'm pretty happy sitting at 1.2v - 4.5Ghz under 75C
Pros: Keeps my CPU cool under full load at 1.2v, Never goes above 75C even when under full load for hours.
Cons: Cannot handle voltage heats past 1.25v... 1.275v skyrockets temperatures past 95C within seconds resulting in system freeze and OMG HIT THE RESET BUTTON QUICK!!
