Summary: I would give this a 5 star except that it was a pain to install. Hard to get to the screws to be able to attach to the motherboard. Had to pretty much have everything off the motherboard in order to be able to access the screws to attach. Besides that it works incredibly well keeping my processor very cool and not having to spin up to high rpm's to do it.
Summary: I have installed four of these units and love them. Although they are a little extra work mounting the hardware to the mainboard, they run very quiet and keep my processors cool. I have used them on AMD AM3 Sockets as well as Intel 1155 and 1150.
Summary: This item never arrived. Contacted Amazon, who refunded the purchase price of the cooler. That's very GOOD service. Could not ask for any better. I did out source the purchase of it. It is a decent cooler. It is big and heavy. You have to use your brain to install it. Have a case that will compliment it, and feed it cool air.
Summary: I have this totally new build and my first time buying an aftermarket CPU cooler. The thing I like best about the Cooler Master GeminII S524 is the pipes touch the CPU. I noticed the others don't do this. There may be some that do but I didn't see them. The fan is whisper quite. The cooling fins touch my two sticks of Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 1866 MT/s (PC3-14900) which I like a lot.
Summary: This thing is HUGE, but it fits just fine in my Cooler Master 430. My only complaint is that, in my particular case, it is too large to allow a 120mm fan to be attached to the top vents, but that is not the fault of the cooler. I have read reviews about the back plate touching the case, but there is an insulating film on the plate that keeps them electrically separated, so it is not a problem.
