Never again

Ethan M., Newegg
2 September 2015
  • Summary: I bought this thinking it would improve my CPU temperature but all it has done is increase it. I have tried re-applying this stuff three different times using three different methods. First I tried the pea method.
  • Pros: It cools the CPU to some degree
  • Cons: CPU temperatures are higher with this garbage than with the stock thermal compound that came with my CPU cooler

Temp benchmarks look good but imperfections on box/tube

First, Amazon
4 October 2014
  • Summary: There's a big bubble area in the paste near the tip and it feels like there's some paste missing. The black bar that indicates how much you've used is further than it should be. Though it's possible that's just because there is going to be a slight deviation from product to product.

NOT in retail package, cap was off mine, defective

Gil A., Newegg

  • Summary: In terms of worst --> best thermal compounds for CPUs and GPUs (installed between core and cooling/heatsink element): Worst thermal compound type: Ceramic-based thermal grease Mid-range thermal compound: Metal-based thermal grease contain solid metal particles (usually silver or aluminum).
  • Pros: Artic MX-4 is far better then the popular Artic Silver 5, in terms of thermal conductivity, lasting effectiveness, and electrical insulation. But not when you get a product that comes in shady retail package with cap off! Get the MX-4 4g one, these come in plastic/sealed retail packaging and you ...
  • Cons: The cap was off, the box provides no assurance product is new. This box they send it in is a complete joke. Used product can be returned and then you get old thermal compound. Like I said, get the MX-4 (4g) they come in sealed plastic, no worries like the 20g version which is easily used and retu...

Probably good

  • Summary: Was eager to try this thermal paste on my pc parts, but with the tube not sealed I worry it's contaminated and drying out. Guess it's back to Arctic Silver
  • Pros: Not sure unable to use it
  • Cons: When I got it the tip was broken off and the tube was cracked a bit and the paste inside seems to be drying out. Not sure if this was caused by the packaging or the shipping company(UPS). Either was it's a huge disappointment.
