's one quiet fan you got there

Robert M., Newegg
22 June 2013
  • Pros: Can't hear it from more than a couple of inches away at 7V, but even then provides what I'd consider a worthwhile cooling improvement. Includes a spare tube of thermal compound, which I suppose is nice to have around, and two spare rubber fan mounts. My EVGA GT440, with its stock cooler, idled at...
  • Cons: You lose an extra two expansion slots, beyond the one from the S1 Plus; getting the extra performance at a low noise level is worth it to me, but may not be to others, though to be fair if I need to use those slots the passive performance of the S1 Plus on my card is still perfectly acceptable. I...

The thing really works

Kevin P., Newegg
22 July 2012
  • Pros: Works so much better than my former video card that it's not even funny. Using the stock cooler, even with Riva Tuner pegging the fan at 100%, running ME2 (2, not 3) at 1920x1200 would spike the video card's temperature to nearly 100C before it'd screw up and crash my system. Using this cooler an...
  • Cons: Bit of a pain to install and the instructions aren't that solid. I would not recommend trying it unless you're fairly comfortable working with electronics.

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev.2

Wanda L., Newegg
4 April 2012
  • Summary: Not much to say here, it did what it had to do and I have been staring at the HD 3850s temperature gauge for an hour and it is holding steady below 50 degrees Celsius so I am pretty impressed at the moment.
  • Pros: My old gaming PC was relocated to the living room and converted into a wireless multimedia PC after being hooked up to my SONY 50" rear projection TV in January of 2011. Unfortunately, the ATI HD 3850 AGP card (yes it was that retro) lost power to it's heat sink fan. The temperature on the GPU qu...
  • Cons: The thermal adhesive was a bit, er...weak. You need to be careful when installing this product. Make absolutely certain the upper surface of the GPU, memory modules, and voltage regulator chips on the graphics card are spotless. Also, the memory modules and voltage regulator chips must be rubbed ...

ZOMG!

Miguel H., Newegg
11 December 2011
  • Summary: Newegg's customer service and shipping times were once again top notch.
  • Pros: I don't generally leave reviews unless a product merits a really bad one, or in the case of the Accelero S1 Rev.2, a really good one. I purchased this item after reading the immense amount of suggestions on forums and review sites. I have to say that I'm quite impressed with this product. My Visi...
  • Cons: As others have noted: the ram heatsinks do not stick well. Even after thoroughly following the directions and rubbing the chips with an eraser I still had some difficulty; in fact, I believe one has already fallen off....

Great improvement

Devin C., Newegg
4 November 2011
  • Summary: Would be nice with a fan as well, however works fine with out one. I only have a 32mm case fan that doesnt point directly at it.
  • Pros: Amazing improvement from avg's of 100 degrees down to 80 degrees when gaming. From 65 degrees to 50 idle. No more graphic card failures, allowing me to use this card for gaming for another year hopefully.
  • Cons: Mini heat sinks don't stay on well.

Good Fanless Setup

Daniel H., Newegg
17 October 2011
  • Pros: Keeps the case cool and quiet. Really a pretty good deal for the price.
  • Cons: Was Larger than i realized. make sure you have room in your machine vertically. i had to remove a fan to make it fit. It took me long to put together than i realized, but no big deal.

Still amazing

Andreas O., Newegg
21 August 2011
  • Pros: I got one of these (back then not Rev. 2 yet) for my 7800GT years ago and was very satisfied. So when recently my 8800GT with stock cooler started to heat up like hell for no apparent reason (90°C on idle) and I wanted to get it ready for possibly becoming a dedicated PhysX card in a SLI system (...
  • Cons: Just one minor thing: the parts pictured on the included installation guide are out of date and look different. They are probably still the ones from Rev. 1 - because the ones on my old card looked like that.

Awesome Cooler

Christopher B., Newegg
11 August 2011
  • Summary: Without a fan added on it is a beast but when you add a fan its even better.
  • Pros: Does the job well. The temps with the stock cooler on my GTS 250 went from 55C idle and 78C under load to 40C idle and 62C under load.
  • Cons: None

Awesome cooler

Brian V., Newegg
5 August 2011
  • Summary: My 4850 was running so hot to the point where it would shut my computer down, somewhere over 110 c. After installing this thing it hasn't been above 63 c under load and 45 c ambient. On average the 4850 is now 40 c (104 f) cooler.
  • Pros: -Noiseless
  • Cons: None
