Summary: I was disappointed in this fan. If powered by my motherboard, it won't go above 850rpm and the switch needs to be in the high position or the fan won't spin at all. For the fan to work like it should, it needs the molex adapter installed which means there is a lot of wiring in the case for a simple...
Pros: - Comes with multiple connections
Cons: - Doesn't move much air on low setting - Loud on medium to high setting - My motherboard will barely power the thing. Had to connect to the PSU with the included adapter.
Summary: I got this to replace the failing case fan in my Dell. Well, to my surprise, it was quite a bit noisier than the OEM fan, with a regular chirping noise. I put the failing fan back and it's still quieter than this Antec. It IS a cheap fan and I guess you get what you pay for.
Summary: Defective wiring: The fan came with a 6-inch extension offering two power connections, 3-pin and 4-pin. I used the 3-pin connector on the extension and the fan got no power. (I tested the power source with my rear case fan and the power source was good.
Summary: Try something else if you don't want to hear your case fan .
Pros: It did work and install easy and it doesnt have any ggaay lights on it. It appears to be well constructed.
Cons: NOISY. I don't care what the other reviews say if you run this fan on anything but low you ARE GONNA HEAR IT. It isnt all that quiet on low either but not loud enough for me to switch it out. The sound it does make is obnoxious not just the normal air moving sound but a whine.
Summary: Like the other reviewers say, this is a quiet fan even on high... until it isn't. Mine started to make quite a bit more noise on startup, presumably the early warning signs of bearing failure, and the fan is only a couple of months old.
Summary: This fan did not cool as much as expected even on the highest speed setting. It seemed to push out a lot of air but compared to the one that it was replacing, it was not equivalent. In addition, I used standard case fan hardware (attachment screws - not included) which went in extremely hard.
Summary: Also the switch to adjust the settings have no defined high, medium, and low I had to figure out which was which by trial and error.
Pros: Good fans, run quietly.
Cons: Just bought it, it runs well and quiet however it was very frustrating to find that the holes that the screws are supposed to fit through are unthreaded, I had to force them through, luckily only 2 are required, as I stripped 2 trying to screw it to my case.
