Summary: After I melted down an AMD FX-8350 CPU with my 24x7number-crunching (exceeding 90°C), I got this for a replacement FX-8230. I've been running it for 14 months with 8 simultaneous crunchers running at 75-80% CPU use, and temp stays in the mid-40s.
Pros: Flawless cooling 3-year warranty
Cons: Somewhat intimidating assembly for a first-time liquid cooler user
Pros: owned it for over a year now and keeps my temps are cool and constant only 10c variation from idle to full load (most of the time)
Cons: with my old 125 quad core Phenom II temps where abit to high low 40`s on idle and high 50`s under load ( sometimes as high as 62c) But with my new AMD 6300 @ 4.2GHz it never gone past 45c and on idle it`s about 25c
Summary: Asetek makes all the designs for AMD, Antec, Zalman, and Thermaltake. So your preference is purely which one you like the most. Performance will be the same. Corsair has a different water block design and so does CoolerMaster.
Pros: I bought my Antec 620 at a local retail store. The system is very quiet - no pump noise, the fan noise is not any more noticeable that any other 120 mm fan. This is installed on an AMD FX8150 and the temps are OK. FYI - your temps can never be lower than the temp of the room you are in (Delta Tem...
Cons: I would agree the instructions are poor. If you were in school or at work and this was your hardware documentation you would fail or be fired. Very sad for a technical company to show this as their installation document. I would like to see inserts for the bolts because the thin radiator metal wo...
Summary: the other computers that i used this cooler with are up 24/7 with constant hardcore gaming. this is a rock solid cooler. i just think i got unlucky.
Pros: they work great. better then advertised. out of 5 separate builds useing this cooler. only one failed. so i have to give it only a 4
Cons: after 4 months of average use. one did fail. but let me add that it failed in such a way as to not cause any damage to the system. my computer never did a thermal shutdown. i just noticed that it slowed way down. i checked the temps and noticed the pump had failed.
Summary: Better manual and this product would be almost perfect.
Pros: Much quieter than my stock CPU fan/heatsink, fits well and looks good in the case. With my stock cooler I idles at around 35C but with this I idle around 25C, a major increase.
Cons: It has been said a lot but the instructions are absolutely atrocious. I suggest looking up a tutorial on YouTube and follow those instructions instead. The instruction manual uses one line instructions and use no descriptive language whatsoever. For example, "Adhear the backing in place"
