Akasa Nero CPU Cooler Review

Hardware Secrets
21 July 2009
  • Summary: Although having a simple design, Akasa Nero showed to be an excellent CPU cooler. Its cooling performance was slightly better that Thermaltake BigTyp 14Pro with its fan at full speed, with the big advantage of being quieter and cheaper. Compared to the Intel stock cooler, its performance was highly superior. Nero has a very conservative looks for current standards with its black fan, no LED's and a discreet (but big) heatsink.

  • Conclusion: In past we have talked a lot about the Akasa cpu coolers with great words. Today we cannot do otherwise but repeat them, since the Akasa Nero proved to be a very good product for the LGA 1366 platform, offering greater performance than the Intel stock cpu cooler and keeping the CPU cool even under overclocking.
  • Cons: The cpu cooler could have more mounting holes for easier installation of a second fan :-)
