Aerocool GT-1000 Gold-Plated Heatsink

1 July 2007
  • Excerpt: Aerocool is a new name to Mikhailtech. Recently we took a peak at their Turbine fan series and were pleased with the innovation involved. However the company has been around for some time; they were one of the first to introduce heatpipe coolers, though their models weren't very popular.
  • Pros: Great presentation, Accommodates both 80mm and 92mm fans, Includes parts for mounting on K7, K8, P4 (478), and LGA775 platforms, Very high quality build, Flat, well polished base, Gold-plated!, Good performance using a higher speed fan
  • Cons: Rigid clips (require a screwdriver), Socket 478 installation needs to be done extra carefully, Mediocre load performance with low speed fan

  • Conclusion: AeroCool does a great job at combining the stunning gold plated looks with excellent heatpipe cooling. During the testing several other techs came over to offer positive comments on the size and looks the GT-1000 provides even through the case window. Is there such a thing as heatsink envy?
