"Seems to work fine until you use self-clean feature"

HollisterCO, CNET
1 January 2014
  • Pros: Like the blue interior, seems to work fine when using
  • Cons: I've come to the conclusion that you can't use the self cleaning feature of this oven without burning out the thermostat. The repair technician told me I needed more ventilation, but when I contacted LG, I more than meet the requirements for this.

"LEMON! Self Clean feature has design defect!"

CiaoHound, CNET
25 November 2013
  • Pros: Beautiful design. Convection oven is easy to use & converts temp for you. Love blue interior as it's easier to see spilled burnt messes & makes cleanup easier. Rack design great when half of oven has tall item like a turkey. Variable size burner
  • Cons: Self Clean feature is defective. 1st time I used it, it melted the display motherboard & locked oven, shutting off power. Noisy fan when oven is cooling. Hot air vents toward cook. lower oven takes forever to heat! LEMON!

"I too have had the dreaded F9 error"

nvnancy, CNET
6 July 2013
  • Pros: I love the look, the telescoping shelves.
  • Cons: I have gotten the F9 error 2x in 2.5 years. Fortunately, I bought the extended warranty, but a terrible inconvenience to deal with the repairs. Service technician says its a design flaw that LG will not correct. Related to the self clean feature.

"This is the worst oven I have ever purchased."

chrismeade1, CNET
28 December 2012
  • Pros: Looks pretty
  • Cons: Every time I use the clean cycle, I get an F9 error. They replace the thermostat and then it works until I clean it again. LG will not do anything, so I am taking the matter up with Home Depot. I am asking for a replacement oven that is NOT LG.

"Poor quality"

mikehorrocks, CNET
3 September 2011
  • Pros: Looks nice, user friendly menu is easy to understand
  • Cons: I have the same F9 error everyone else gets with this unit. If you use the self clean cycle it disables it and you have to have it serviced. Also the racks on the bottom unit dont fit tight enough to stay on the rails and will dump your food if you are

"Looks good, to bad it never works!"

Klala2011, CNET
26 August 2011
  • Pros: Looks good.
  • Cons: I have had to have my LG oven serviced multiple times for an F9 error since purchasing just a little over a year ago! And its never just a single visit, it takes multiple visits to diagnose, get the right part, install. If it happens again I may have ha

"Looks Good but consistently fails when we need it most!"

wcs60, CNET
23 November 2010
  • Pros: Well...it looks pretty and make some neat sounds when it works.
  • Cons: I also have the same F9 error, they replace the thermostats and its ok for a while. I cant bring myself to pay 200.00+ for a repair when its a 7.00 part thats failing due to a very poor design. I will fix it myself

"My oven has a self cleaning problem. Fails each time."

  • Pros: Potential to be a good product if problems are fixed.
  • Cons: Does not function properly after self cleaning. Too expensive not to work as advertised.
