Summary: After buying this appliance in September of 2010, just after 1 year, the keyboard control unit died - and after a lot of arguments with GE, they replaced it for free. Lately, the paint in the microwave is peeling off. This time around GE is not prepared to replace the unit. Upon researching this very issue on the Internet, I found numerous complaints about paint peeling off.
Summary: "Everything is baking up great! The interior cavity holds the roasting pans and bigger cooking sheets. The old version was an easy bake oven compared to this model. The microwave has better function as well, just love my new oven and microwave!
Summary: "This is a great, basic, oven microwave combo and it looks good, too. Appliances Connection was fast shipping it. They kept me informed all through the process. The shipment actually came in sooner than I expected.
Summary: The microwave portion of the walloven combo failed after 13 months. The micro wave will not shut off unless the door is left open or the breaker is opened. Apparently this is not uncommon and the problem is due to internal wiring and the control board (according to GE). Estimated repair according to GE is $300. GE will not budge on the 12 month warranty. Mine failed at 13.5 months. I did some research and they are having problems with their microwaves.
Summary: Purchased this to replace a KitchenAid Architect Series since it had the same dimensions and would be an easy install in the cabinet. It has a lot less features than the KitchenAid, but still seemed to be a decent oven/microwave combo. The microwave worked well, and we didn't have the paint peeling problem that many complain about (maybe not enough time has passed). The oven, however, has bothered me since the beginning.
