Summary: Update - I recently received Toshiba Samsung TS-L632H optical laptop drive Fulfilled by Amazon and sold by Acumen Disc. The product description clearly states that the unit is also a LightScribe burner.
Summary: I bought this item to replace my DVD player that would burn or play CDs or DVDs. I tried all the software fixes. I decided to buy this item as a last ditch since the price was ok. It worked, no issues.
Summary: I bought this after the old one in my laptop died. It works just fine, even at the highest RPM that it can go. I haven't tried to burn a lightscribe CD in it yet. It is lot labeled anywhere on the drive that it is a lightscribe drive, both on the door, and on the internal stickers. Buyer beware.
Summary: I bought it because my laptop's CD-ROM broke. I replace it and it worked for 3 months then it stopped reading discs. Pathetic device. I ended up buying external CD-ROM which I just plug into USB ports. Works like a charm.
Summary: C714NR, to be specific. Interior (label) markings were identical to the one that shipped with my drive. As with one of the previous reviews, I just needed to replace the exterior--and I actually haven't done that yet and it still works fine.
Summary: Very satisfied. I got exactly what I ordered and it works how it should. The price was great. I paid a few bucks for shipping but it got here in a few days. A quality product was delivered on time at a very competitive price.
Summary: Bought this thinking it was NEW. Seems to be NOS, maybe even used? Mfg. 2006. And there was this strange dent on the bottom side of the cd door. Other then that, seems to work okay. Would have returned but where else am I going to get a PATA drive?
