CNET
17 October 2004
  • Pros: Once you do the firmware 06 upgrade and find out what media works everything is great! Tried HP disks without firmware update, and got lotsa coasters. Originally I thought it was the DVDRW, but as I began to read forums I noticed Verbatim disks are comp
  • Cons: Couldn't find anything in a manual to tell you to upgrade firmware, or what brands of media are compatible other than Sony

"Do it right the first time."

CNET
19 July 2004
  • Pros: I am able to burn full DVD movies in less than 45 minutes, with no errors or hang ups to speak of. I also updated my firmware out of the box, so that might have got any problems it had out of the way for me. Bottom line, this is a great drive, it does as

"Great but incremental improvement"

CNET
7 July 2004
  • Pros: Good versatility. Just like my older DRU drive, firmware may increase performance. A flash to my old drive's firmware exactly doubled its out-of-box performance!
  • Cons: 2.4x, even with the benefit of dual-layer, is absolutely pathetic. Until this is upgraded, who really needs this technology?

"Great DVD Burner"

CNET
4 July 2004
  • Pros: It has worked flawlessly! No problems at all. Once I called Sony and figured out I had to make my other drive a slave, ant this one a master. It rocks! Truly worth the cost.
  • Cons: Can not find double layer dvds anywhere. But, I have been using DVD+R's with not one single problem. Go SONY!

10 June 2004
  • Pros: It does what it says it does very well and with 8x media it blazes! I've have also burned a dual layer disk and it played on a newer Denon DVD player & and older Sony DVD player perfectly. The included Ahead Nero software performs well even if not as
  • Cons: Media is very hard to come by and expensive so far. And it would be nice if it already was DVD-R DL ready also. (Firmware revisions are forthcoming I hear)

Buena grabadora

Ciao
16 August 2005
  • Pros: Dual, doble capa, buena velocidad
  • Cons: Anticuada
