  • Pros: if it works in six months consider yourself very lucky!
  • Cons: Been through 4... yes 4 DRU's in a little over a year. They all eventually failed to read or write DVD media. Unless you enjoy getting RMA's then look elsewhere for a DVD writer... seriously.

  • Pros: ...electronic paperweight. The pros are there are many forums and articles dedicated to the DRU-530A. Another good point is they all say the same thing "Doesn't recognize DVD media. Support is pathetic. Tried firmware updates ( of which there are many )
  • Cons: Too small and light to be an effective boat anchor.
