Summary: this drive sits in a media PC that is more internet driven than CD/DVD driven, so if you are more DVD driven it might not be the best solution. I could easily get more irritated if I had to put in disks more often. the occasional insert doesn't seem to boil my blood too much.
Pros: good speed and reliable
Cons: kind of flimbsy so that when installed the door only closes by pushing on one side of the drive. in addition the disk sort of catches many times and you have to be very careful while inserting
Cons: This thing won't fit in any of the 3 Dell Latitude laptops I've tried it in. It says it's compatible with laptops, but it's WAY TOO BIG. The laptops I own have ROM's that are much slimer than this one. I think they need to specify that it only fits mini atx computer towers, not laptops.
Summary: Mounting screws must be 2/56 or equivalent metric...Poor eyesight..... Drive holes yielded perfect alignment of bezel with front of case (wow).
Pros: Fit mounting bracket of Antec Mini Itx case perfectly Easy plug Sata Power and Data cables Quiet operation CD's snap mount like a Laptop, rather than drop into tray. A plus for Vertically mounted drives perhaps.
