  • Summary: Samsung makes the very best components, they have the fastest in class Hard Drive, the F1 - beats even the velocity raptor in most tests, and the 20/22X DVD Burners - I have purchased over 100 of them through newegg, and my only problem ever was accidently ordering the PATA version instead of the...

  • Summary: this is OEM so make sure you have a SATA cable layin' around
  • Pros: It's SATA, and for the price this definitely is a great buy for anyone who only needs a cd/dvd burner drive. From coming from an old IDE drive this is a good step up, i can really notice the speed is much faster. I've had this for a few months, and still no problems.
  • Cons: none really

DOA

  • Summary: Most hardware has a certain percentage of defects. This may or may not be my case. Who knows.
  • Pros: Cheap.
  • Cons: Cheap. This thing arrived DOA. Saddly it is so cheap that RMA'ing it would cost almost as much as just buying a new one so what's the point.

  • Summary: Ive had this drive for just about a year and it was replaced by a PATA burner that I had for 4 years. This is quite the work horse. I constantly use this drive for burning discs/backup, playing games, watching DVD's.
  • Pros: Fast, reliable, burned hundreds of CDs / DVDs and counting!
  • Cons: None. Its great!

Just works

  • Summary: FYI: I installed this into my Antec P180B case on the bottom bay and the drive is not as deep/long as my older IDE drive. The only problem this caused me was that I not able to use a right-angle SATA connector.
  • Pros: This thing just works as expected, comes with basic version of Nero.
  • Cons: None.
