Summary: I have not had it long enough to give it a five star rating, I would probably (Not guaranteed though YET) recommend it to friends. Your postal service is recommended though, I would have NO problem there telling friends and relatives about it.
No bells and whistles, just what you need. Loud buzzing noise - sorted out!

Summary: No unnecessary clutter like software and manuals, I have never used any of those that come with drives in retail packages. Although it doesn't say Samsung anywhere on it, model number and design is that of a Samsung drive. Had plenty of spare SATA cables that came with motherboard, so no problem connecting it. Make sure you have a spare one before you buy this drive.
Summary: I bought this as a backup, just in case. On testing, it is noisey to the extreme, meaning media playback is a loud horrible experience. I doubt I will ever use it for anything voluntarily! I didn't even bother testing its burn abilities. Maybe I just got a dodgy unit but I wouldn't hold out any hope. If I just want trash, I can just find it in bins AND ITS LESS NOISEY!
Summary: Great value for money, had it for a while now and has been 100% operational. totally compatible for Lightscribe. (Burns images on disc to create your own designs). Great Price, good quality, 5 stars from me.
Summary: Item was returned as unusable. The button on the front did not want to eject the tray, and the drive head did not want to read the disks, after 50 minutes into a dvd the drive would not read the last 10 minutes and when I tried to install software it would not complete. Constant hammering of the drive, I suspect the reader head was mis-aligned. This maybe a one off issue, but in the end I sent it back and bought an LG drive and am really happy with it.
Samsung 22x SATA DVD Writer - Black (Bare Drive Only)

Summary: I've just built a new PC in which i wanted a no frills dvd rw drive, and this fit the bill. It was cheap, delivered very quickly and is very quiet in operation. Just remember you wont get any cables with this product.
Summary: This drive is as bare bones as they come (it wasn't even in a box just bundled in plenty of bubble wrap) so remember you'll also need a sata cable and the burning software of your choice (be that free or paid). For what its worth I like to use the free Imgburn but there are plenty of choices out there for you to choose from.
