Brilliant product but installation is difficult and time consuming

Chris666, Scan
23 April 2015
  • Excerpt: The product works well as an external CD/DVD reader and writer. There is no manual on the disc, only a link to an expired website with a for sale notice on it. The Samsung site has a manual on it, but it is full of information of no use to a user - mainly compliance.

Can read and write optical discs : Not expensive

LeightonBeck, Scan
24 January 2014
  • Excerpt: As a stand alone USB optical drive it works. + Not expensive - It's noisy and slow. - Audio discs have a tendency to start at track 2. As for the other 'features' Don't even think about it. Just don't that's all.

A nice idea, but not much use for Mac

Sam95, Scan
21 January 2014
  • Excerpt: The drive looks great, and is much cheaper than Apples super drive, unfortunately you can't install the software to use it wirelessly on a macbook pro (or Macbook Air), so it just becomes a USB disk drive, and it isn't the highest speed USB disk drive i have ever seen due to only being USB 2.0.

Offers all, but can he fussy to set up

Rouleur, Scan
15 December 2013
  • Excerpt: I'm only using the item as a usb dvd drive, but it's nice to think that the device offers additional features I might use in the future. Difficult to use fully unless your desktop pc is wifi rather than LAN.
