Have been looking for this drive for a while.

  • Excerpt: It was doing the job but now I have no USB port to use it in. The Sabrent Aquamini hub purchased at the same time has died.

Sabrent SBT-UFDB External USB 2X Floppy Disk Drive

Nafay, Office Depot
21 April 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this product thinking that it would be a great tool, since I have a large amount of information stored in floppy disks. I was really disappointed after installing the external floppy disk drive because it would not open a single one! The only way it would open is, if it is formatted. I was prompted to format the disk before opening it. If I format the disk I would loose all the information in it. Therefore, the product was useless to me and a waste of money.
  • Cons: requires formatting of the disk before opening it., formatting a floppy disk means you would loose all, your information.

Terrible Disappointment!

Horse Sense, Office Depot
18 April 2014
  • Excerpt: Sabrent SBT-UFDB External USB 2X Floppy Disk Drive Save your time and money! Spent over half an hour trying to get this device to read floppies that contained bitmap files and fonts - and all it wanted to do was reformat each one. Obviously, reformatting would have erased all existing information on the disks. This product does not even deserve 1 star - zero would have been better!

What a neat idea.

  • Excerpt: I did not know that this was available. Neat idea to use if your PC does not have a Floppy Disk Drive. Can't rate it yet; I don't have my new tower PC installed at this time.

waste of time!

,, TigerDirect.com
26 January 2014
  • Summary: It is a plug-n-play item, so I plugged it in and it was recognized by the computer. I inserted a diskette and it made the normal spinning grinding noise, but did not recognize the diskette. When I ejected the diskette it also shot parts of its internal components. I looked around to see if I was being punked but nope , it was just me and my bad purchase.

Worked great on a Mac, running Windows XP Media

  • Summary: Worked great on a Mac running Mavericks, running Windows XP Media Center via Parallels version 9. It could have shipped faster, but no biggie. But in Alaska, we complain about shipping a lot.
