Summary: This drive in incredible, everything I have burned on this drive has worked flawlessly and never failed to play in our DVD player. I have used stock DVD drives and also 'New' ones in the form of the usual, Asus, LG ect. ect. But as soon as this arrived I knew it was a beast, everything about it is quality right down to the software. Never let me down.
Summary: This is a good quality very quiet running drive that performs extremely well. It is supplied with PlexUTILITIES software that has lots of features, but which was very flaky in operation on my Windows 7 - 64 bit OS, although the latest update revision (v18.104.22.168) that I am now running seems stable. It is a great pity in my view, that a high spec drive from Plextor does not support CD-Text writing, when a bog-standard no-name drive on my old Dell does!
Summary: great piece of kit, so far it has read everything for ripping using dBpoweramp except one disc, but my optiarc reader would not rip this disc either so it must be a bad copy. The PLEXTOR read the discs that the Optiarc would not at a very fast speed 40+ and bit-perfect too.The only problem is that the older copy of NERO would not load and run on my computer ( windows 7 ), but then some other older software will not run also, referring to the pcclone software as used by...
Summary: I have always bought Pioneer DVD burners, I've never had a problem with them. Throw a blank disc in and burn it. I bought the Plextor because they had a reputation for quality and this model was about the same price as a Pioneer. Afterwards I learned Plextor are no longer manufactured by the same company and it shows. Despite claiming it's a 24x speed burner, it can barely manage to burn at 8x when set at 12x using 16x discs.
