  • Summary: DVD-burners from Plextor have been traditionally regarded as special products. Even without knowing exactly why, you realize you can expect something more from them than from ordinary products after you’ve taken a look at the price tag. I’ll try to find out if Plextor indeed has something special to offer us by testing the company’s DVD-burner which key feature is the ability to burn DVD media at a speed of 18x.

  • Conclusion: Plextor's PX-760A is the first 18X burner to be launched on the market. However, the DVD-R DL writing speed remains at 6X. All tests have been done with the auto selection mode enabled in order to let the drive choose the best writing strategy. As a CD reader, the PX-760A is one of the fastest out there, supporting 48X reading speed, while it is also fast as a DVD reader. DVD+/-R/ROM can be read at 16X, while DL media can be read at 12X.

  • Conclusion: Plextor PX-760A. Jednak powstaje pytanie w jakim celu ?
  • Pros: Brak możliwości eksportu i importu bazy danych AutoStrategy, Słaba wydajność mechanizmu korekcji błędów, Bardzo długi czas odczytu płyt zabezpieczonych LaserLock
  • Cons: AutoStrategy, XXI odpowiednik gwoździa: PlexEraser, SecuREC, GigaREC, VariREC, Pakiet PlexTools
