Summary: Working excelent. Label Flash disk are quite expencive at the time (and no CD until this momment). The effect on the label flash is more nice than lighscribe but imo it dont worth the extra pounds to buy a dvd of labelflash.
Summary: The picture was a bit of a giveaway for me knowing it would come as is (without anything). For some i can assume they would be disappointed to open the box and only find the drive. My case is a Cooler Master and does not require screws to fit a rom but if you do, you can buy 50 for a few pound on amazon and i'm sure you can get less screws for pennies on other sites. Is it real?
Summary: I have trouble playing perfectly clean and sometimes new disc's, I have to open the Disc drive and close it again, and repeat it until the Disc loads. Not all the time do I have to do this, but I would say this DVD drive is cheap, and not really suitable for anything other than installing windows (If the Disc even loads). Good luck to whoever buys this!
Summary: Had to buy this as when I 'upgraded' to WIndows 8 my old Samsung DVD writer was no longer recognised for some unknown reason (it still showed up in BIOS). Anyway, this arrived, cheap so no complaints, slotted in and worked first time. Hasn't given me any problems but I don't use the drive much these days anyway.
Summary: RUBBISH!!! Wrote 1 DVD then started only reading DVDs intermittently. On it's way back to Amazon. Have replaced with yet another Samsung SH-224SB (my 3rd from the Amazon site in the past 2 months )..the previous 2 are working perfectly..
Summary: Worked well for the first two days but then started to trap discs at random, and the only way to rescue them was to use the eject hole - found out that the tray was slightly misaligned by 1mm on the left side and thus causing the problem. It may have been a one-off as most reviews of this burner have been good. Returned it to Amazon who were fantastic as usual and went for a HP dvd1260i instead which has a perfectly aligned disc tray.
Summary: Bought as a replacement for a failed Samsung DVD writer. A good price, but it's completely bare, which was OK in my case as I just swapped it for the old drive. Performance is satisfactory, but I wonder about the speeds claimed for it - it seems slower than the drive it replaced which had a lower spec.
