Summary: After researching these drives I have found pioneer no longer makes these DVR-219BK they are outsourced and as you can expect, they are junk Pioneer is selling their name and now getting a bad rep because of it.
Pros: Cheap drive, had pioneers name on it.
Cons: Failure rate on disks increases after 100 burns. lost 3 of these drives in 1 of my duplicators and at least 2 in the other duplicator. Makes some coasters for sure.
Pros: I’ve been burning DVDs and CDs about 3 times a week for the last month and it has performed fine. I bought this based on my experience with another Pioneer DVD burner I’ve used to regularly burn DVDs for a couple years now. It’s still working so I hope to get at least a couple years out of this o...
Cons: It's generally more expensive than other competitor’s burners at Newegg. I've seen the price change several times...if you're not in a hurry watch for the price drops.
Summary: I am a proud owner of my Pioneer Electronic Devices! Maybe one day Pioneer and AMD will merge and Pure awesomness will overcome the world. I should have been in Marketing. * I almost forgot: Choosing SATA locations is important with newer systems runmning RAID Check installation manuals when...
Pros: Worked on the first day and I have had this drive for nearly 2 years now. That doesn't mean that the drive you purchase will be made by the same person or QC process. I know that I have purchased other brands in Home theatre componnents and paid twice the price for them to fail just at the warran...
Cons: With a total black face, quiet drive, long lasting performance, What's a Con?
Summary: After first reading the reviews, I was a bit concerned whether to buy this model or not. I ended up buying 2 and no problems whatsoever. I can only say, for the people who bought duds, I think it's just the luck of the draw.
Pros: Great. Does the job well. Well worth the money.
