  • Excerpt: I still remember how we first met, she was introduced to me by a mutual friend called SMC along with a large crowd of other components who all hung out in a computer. For a while we all got on fine, we communicated well and I was proud that 103S was my DVD-ROM drive. My friends all remarked on the classic look that of course came from her connection with the respectable Pioneer family but for me her best feature was the easy access to her slot.

  • Excerpt: This is the model of dvd-drive that has served me well for quite some time now. It is a region free variety providing the jumper at the back of the drive is not fiddled with. However, even if the drive accidentally becomes region locked then there is a program that enables you to restore it to a region free state. The drive itself, reads normal CDs at 32x and DVDs at 5x – this is more than sufficient for anything I have encountered so far.
