Overpriced, Doesn't last

Patrick M., Newegg
31 January 2015
  • Summary: Bought this because it seemed reasonably priced and well reviewed. After only a few months of ownership, the drive began to take over a minute to show up in windows. On top of this, it was very loud. Then it would not connect or show up in Windows at all.
  • Pros: Worked well at first for burning and watching bluray price
  • Cons: No software or drivers Inconsistent performance no support began dying after only a few months

Short life Blue Ray

Walter S., Newegg
18 December 2014
  • Summary: I expected a pioneer drive to last, other $12.00 DVD drives are going strong after four years. Things happen and you move on
  • Pros: Worked as advertised
  • Cons: This drive did not last a year, turned it on last week and it was deader than a door nail

It works

Anonymous, Newegg
9 January 2014
  • Summary: If you want to watch Blu-Ray movies and don't have any software that can handle Blu-Ray yet, you may want to consider buying a drive that comes with software. As of right now, there are not many decent free programs that are able to play Blu-Ray movies.
  • Pros: It is fairly quiet, does what it is meant to. Haven't had a chance to try and burn any Blu-Ray disks yet.
  • Cons: The LED on the front to indicate activity is a little distracting if it isn't covered.

Works flawlessly in my Mac Pro Mid 2012.

R. Surber, Amazon
7 December 2013
  • Summary: I have had this drive now going on a month. It was very easy to install into the second drive bay in my Mac Pro. All I had to do was remove the front CD Tray Plate before installing (if you don't do this, the tray will not be able to fit through the drive bay door).

Fantastic Burner/Reader

Eric M. Zimmerman, Amazon
3 December 2013
  • Summary: Awesome burner, burns every blank media I have introduced to it without a hitch, even my cheap Memorex Blue-ray. And as a bonus this drive will read my audio DVDs which my lite-On could not.
