Summary: Every part of this transaction went well. The item is a plus for my computer in the area of upgrading. I would encourage anyone to purchase this item if you have a blu-ray collection. It is a plus for computer folks. Get yours today.
Summary: Tested it, gave it a try and it works flawlessly. You can burn DVD's and CD. but be warned, this is a combo, it won't write BD. The three letters at the beginning will let you know if it's a writer (BDR) or a combo (BDC) There are newer versions, like the 208 and the latest the 209. And this won't come with any sort of software for viewing BD, so it's the perfect choice if you already have one.
Summary: When I initially built my HTPC, I didn't bother to buy an optical drive since I had a set-top Bluray player. However, when my set-top player started having problems, rather than buy another, I bought this drive and PowerDVD 13, and the reliability and options I now have puts any set-top player I've ever had to shame. The drive is fast and quiet. I used some black electrical tape to cover the drive access light, so that it won't blink when watching movies.
Summary: I ordered this as a gift. It was delivered on time but was poorly packed. it was sold as "used" but came with no documentation or cabling. It is functioning fine. So all's well that ends well.
Summary: I build my own desktops and needed a new optical drive for my latest build. With today's technology, brand is really a secondary consideration for optical drives and prices don't vary much, but for piece of mind I went with Pioneer. The drive works flawlessly and does exactly as expected. Very fast and no issues whatsoever.
