Good

Luis Emilio Lopez, Amazon
18 April 2014
  • Summary: Tested it, gave it a try and it works flawlessly. You can burn DVD's and CD. but be warned, this is a combo, it won't write BD. The three letters at the beginning will let you know if it's a writer (BDR) or a combo (BDC) There are newer versions, like the 208 and the latest the 209. And this won't come with any sort of software for viewing BD, so it's the perfect choice if you already have one.

Perfect drive

Erik, Amazon
26 March 2014
  • Summary: When I initially built my HTPC, I didn't bother to buy an optical drive since I had a set-top Bluray player. However, when my set-top player started having problems, rather than buy another, I bought this drive and PowerDVD 13, and the reliability and options I now have puts any set-top player I've ever had to shame. The drive is fast and quiet. I used some black electrical tape to cover the drive access light, so that it won't blink when watching movies.

Great brand, great price, fast read/write

MN "MN", Amazon
2 March 2014
  • Summary: I build my own desktops and needed a new optical drive for my latest build. With today's technology, brand is really a secondary consideration for optical drives and prices don't vary much, but for piece of mind I went with Pioneer. The drive works flawlessly and does exactly as expected. Very fast and no issues whatsoever.

Good little Blu-ray player for a great price.

Jose Gomez, Amazon
31 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought this so I could do the VUDU Disc to Digital conversion of my Blu-Rays to UltraViolet. It works great for that purpose. I don't have any software to actually watch Blu-rays on my computer, so I can't comment on the quality, but works great for the purpose that I intended to use it. This drive comes with NO SOFTWARE, so keep that in mind. Window 7 recognized it right away, but you will need software if you intend to watch movies with it.
