Summary: I bought this unit to replace my existing DVD player in my MD7818U. I haven't, as of yet, burned any Blu-ray media, but the abliity to watch Blu-ray movies is fantastic. The picture is great and there has been no problems to date.
Summary: I was a bit unsure whether this would fit in my laptpo (Acer Aspire V3) but it works fine; apparently it's a standard, interchangeable size. Just carefully remove the front bezel (two clips) and re-attach onto the new unit. It's a very cheap way to have a major upgrade on your laptop.

Summary: Purchased this for use in a Toshiba Qosmio X875-7190 laptop http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AY1FGYK/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_21 This was simple! I wanted to have Blu-ray in the above laptop. Toshiba refused to work with me so I went with AMAZON! I replaced the original drive with this one also from amazon. I removed the drive and the face plate from the laptop.
Summary: When I bought my laptop which was custom built by Toshiba in Shanghai, China, I was very happy with it. Except the DVD drive. The DVD drive made sounds which sounded like it was ready for takeoff. It rattled so loud, etc. That's why I bought this Panasonic Blu Ray Drive as a replacement. It's very quiet, fit my budget perfectly, and I was able to remove the bezel and replace it with my old one for a clean look, it's faster than my old drive, and performs perfectly!
Summary: Purchased this for my HP dv7 4080us to replace the factory blu-ray drive. The factory drive would not read some newer blu-ray discs, but it would read dvds fine. Putting this drive in was as simple as taking a small bracket off the back of the old drive, and screwing it onto the new drive. Identical mounting holes. The hardest part was getting the face plate off my old drive, but once I got it off, and the one off the new drive, it went on real easy.
