The drive I received when ordering this part is counterfeit. Panasonic confirmed from Japan.

Summary: When I was having issues setting up this drive I contacted Panasonic support, and provided them a picture of the drive. In BIOS and OS, the drive showed up as a UJ260, whereas the label was listing it as a UJ-240. On top of this, the support agent contacted Panasonic Japan directly to see if they could assist, and they came back with several point about the label that confirms this as a counterfeit part.
Summary: Received this drive but without the bezel. The product description clearly says "...General Features: Black bezel". Returning it! It may be a good drive, I didn't try to install it... they need to get their description right.
Spent 3 hours trying to make it recognize BD-RE DL. No use. Seems to be a firmware issue.

Summary: As a technician with more that 10 years of experience behind can absolutely assure you - this rom is useless! Not so sure if that was just my luck or may be the issue with firmware 1.0 in general but i couldn't get it to recognize Dual Layer Blu-rays. After reading other people's review on this rom, who claim to have the same issue tend to believe that, it wont work depending on which firmware version it has. 1.2 and more frequent might work.
Summary: The description for this drive clearly says it is a Blu-ray burner. It is infact a regular Blu-ray drive and a Dvd burner. It works fine as a basic player and works well in Linux. It was too late to return by the time I got my new system up and running. Don't waste your time just buy it from Newegg.
Summary: This product worked great for a month. I was able to burn blurays and play bluray commercial movies. After a month or so this bluray drive stopped being able to play Blu Ray commercial movies, even the ones that played a month ago. Although I typically like the brand and expected a quality product, I cannot recommend what I received. If anyone knows where I can find firmware for this model, please let me know.
Summary: Worked once, and then stopped writing any sort of discs altogether. Some "power calibration error" pops up. No fix anywhere on the internet to be found. can't believe i paid 90 bucks for this. still reads discs though, but if that was all i ever wanted, i would've bought a cheaper drive.
Summary: For some reason, the drive I received could not read standard commercial DVDs! (It CAN read Blu-ray disks just fine...) Also, it did not come with a bezel, unlike the one in the picture. Returning it to the seller...
Summary: I just received this drive, and like a few other users, it did not come with a front bezel. I had to order one from another site. The vendor was MLC Distribution, so maybe choose a different vendor if you're looking to buy this drive.
