Summary: Runs quietly, seems a good product. But I bought this to play Blu-ray discs (not surprising as it's a Blu-ray drive) but the bundled software does not play my Blu-rays! Had to pay for an upgrade to the latest edition of the PowerDVD software. It is possible use to the VLC free player I understand; I had neither the patience nor understanding to do this as it needs a number of additional components. So I paid for the Power DVD upgrade.
Summary: Bought this as a basic drive only to put in my PC to play Blu Ray films. Installation was easy enough and it works from the go. Didnt realise the hornets nest i'd opened in thinking i could then just play Blu Ray films - to work with my current monitor i've had to get Blu Ray playing software (Power DVD) and also Slysoft software to get round the monitor and protection issues.
Summary: This is what it is, a basic hardware blu ray player. Well worth the price. software is rubbish, once you install it, your required to pay more to get it to work. Get better software than powerDVD 10.
Summary: So the drive itself seems to work fine & does what you'd expect, but when I came to install the software for it an error message popped up & informed me that the software was only for use with LG drives, I contacted Amazon & they pointed me in the right direction to get support from LiteOn with the problem, & so far I've had no response from them in nearly 3 weeks. So, thumbs up to Amazons customer support, but thumbs down for LiteOns.
Summary: The Blu-Ray side of it plays fine though I can't update the firmware because I'm using Win 7 64bit (firmware will only install in 32bit windows). I actually thought this drive had DVD-RW built in as well but it didn't it's just a DVD-ROM drive! Bummer, I guess I should have paid more attention to the description.
Summary: I thought, being a basic blu-ray player, once I had got round the problem of attaching my IDE connection to Sata blu-ray player things would be OK. I now find I will have to upgrade my power supply to put in a more powerful graphics card to play Blu-ray. Works with ordinary DVDs. As I was upgrading anyway I'm not too bothered, but be aware!
Summary: The drive itself is great, it's a fairly average piece of kit. HOWEVER be warned! There are no open source BluRay players yet, this in itself is not an issue, except all the current software available is totally rubbish! With DVDs you can skip your way through those annoying copyright notices and those unskippable trailers thanks to gems like VLC or mplayer - with bluray, not so much.
Summary: The drive itself arrived safely and was installed with the minimum of fuss together with the PowerDVD software. However, I tried to play my Coraline blu-ray disc and the software will not allow it; you either have to pay for an upgrade to PowerDVD or invest in some other software (such as the blu-ray version of AnyDVD). I would expect a blu-ray player to play blu-ray discs without nay problem and not have to search out extra software.
Summary: Leider wurde ein unbrauchbares Cyberlink-Abspielprogramm beigelegt.
