Summary: I bought this to add blu-ray capabilities to my media server box, which also acts as a server for several different parts of my network at home. It's great when it works, but every 24-48 hours it will disappear from the system, with my motherboard reporting that it's been unplugged. I've changed SATA cables, SATA ports on the motherboard, and I've even changed the power feed.
The Cyberlink software is not compatible with WINDOWS 8.

Summary: If you have WINDOWS 8 go for another drive with software that is compatible, the rub here is the drive was cheap but to get the software upgraded is the same cost as the drive, now looking at paying £70.

Summary: So I got this drive as I have upgraded to a 2nd display and wanted to watch movies whilst gaming or surfing the net... It worked for about a week then would mysteriously disappear from the PC... wasn't showing in 'Device Manager' or 'My Computer'. Only a reboot would bring it back and then randomly it would vanish again... I tried changing SATA cables, the port its connected to...
