Summary: If you are simply looking for BD-Rom to to use in your PC or HTPC to watch Blu-Rays on, this is the one. In my opinion it's the best option. My only other thought is directed to the negative reviewers out there. Blu-Rays are produced at 24Hz.
Pros: Came with Blu-Ray player software!!! Definite factor for normal people who can't hack codecs and software. I spent almost every free moment after work researching My HTCP build for over a month. IF YOUR GOING TO BUY A BD-ROM MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH THE LICENSE TO PLAY BLU-RAYS. Many others have g...
Cons: CyberLink DVD 10 can be a pain to get registered and updated!! once done correctly it works like a champ! You can't just update it from there site like you bought it strait out. You have to update the "bundled with hardware" route or the updates won't work, will make play back super choppy, make ...
Summary: My GPU is a SAPPHIRE 100290SR Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Eyefinity 6 Edition Video Card, so I don't think it is the problem.
Pros: Have burnt over 300 DVDs and more than 50 Blu-Ray data discs with only six coasters due to defective blanks. I think my money was pretty well spent as far as making data discs.
Cons: I have downloaded the latest version of Cyberlink but still have some issues with Blu-Ray movie playback. I may put this in my utility system and look for something else for playback in my main system
Cons: Only problem is, the mounting screws provided won't seem to screw into the drive. I was finally able to get one to start and go in. The other 3 I gave up on because something is off in their thread pitch tolerances. First time I've ever experienced this.
Summary: Since 3D is an issue with all the Manufacturers just purchase units that support CD/DVD/Blu-ray and forget about 3D until they resolve how to make it proficient.
Pros: Lite-On makes some wonderful Optical Drives.
Cons: 3D ... Unfortunately All Manufacturers are having issues with 3D playback and I really believe it's in the Software. No one likes Bundled Software Packages and it's just another Market Push to get Consumers to Buy something that is not functional or doing very well. Kinda in the exploritory- R&D ...
Summary: The Cyberlink PowerDVD software work fine initially. It popped up with "UPDATE" so I clicked and downloaded the patch (not the upgrade), installed and rebooted. Afterwards I could not play Blu-ray discs. I looked online and other people are also having this problem also.
Pros: Easy installation Quiet operation
Cons: Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 software that came with it is garbage
Summary: I would have provided 5 Stars if it wasn't for the provided Cyberlink software. Lite-On...get on Cyberlink about this! Thank you!
Pros: Works as advertised...no problems playing Blu-Ray DVD's. Haven't trying burning any discs yet, but I don't think I will have any problems...drive is fast and quiet.
Cons: Needs to come with better software..the quality of the software should match the performance and quality of the drive. I keep getting the BD-J application is not recognized or invalid and even I disabled that option in the software settings. It's annoying. I am playing "Planet Earth" that I purch...
