Pros: None. Had it for exactly 5 weeks before it caught on fire. Used it three times to burn DVD's.
Cons: Turned on PC and left room and returned 2 minutes later to find the room filled with smoke. The Lite On DVD burner board at the connection was melted and scorched the metal frame. Melted SATA connection. Some of the metal contacts in the connection where melted too.If I hadn't returned when I did...
Summary: Nice decent sata optical drive that I used for new build for win8/opensuse box in uefi. No problems booting from it and worked well in Nero and K3b. No complaint whatsoever and prob would buy it again.
GREAT "Normal" Player/Burner But Not For Making CD+G's
20 October 2015
Summary: It is an excellent drive for "normal" playing and CD and DVD burning and for that it's rated 5--- HOWEVER my additional needs were for it to burn CD+G discs that can be played on a variety of Karaoke setups --- it falls short here since it's a 50-50 possibility that the finished disc will work----...
Summary: Functions exactly as you need it to. It's cheap and does exactly what it says on the tin. I recommend just getting the bare kit if your case already came with a SATA cable --you should have everything you need to drop it in.
Pros: I've been using this exact model Dvd burner for several years now and never noticed any problem so I purchased another for upgrading a media box. Never had problems burning and reads older scratched or rebuffed disks rather well.
Summary: It has preformed exceedingly well. We produce over 75 copied CDs weekly of our church services to our members who cannot attend because of business travel, sickness or other problems and we have not incurred any problems.
