Summary: Works well. Tray is a bit plasticky, like most these days. Opening mechanism is a bit noisy. Drive gets noisy when spins up. I don't care, because it was cheap and I hardly ever use optical media these days. If you use your DVD writer all the time you might want to pay a little more.
Summary: To be fair I had to give this a 5 star rating as there was nothing wrong with it at all. However I had to return it as (I explained to Amazon) I thought the sockets would be universal, but I was wrong. Its connections were not suited to my Philips computer tower. Instead of seeking out another drive I put my computer into Recovery mode and whereas it had ceased to recognise this drive - after Recovery it did recognise it. Problem solved.
Overall views and Opinions on the LiteOn IHAS122-18

Summary: LiteOn IHAS122-18 Review: 10/10 Overall this Optical Drive looks very pleasing and appears to be made of good quality materials. The front of the Optical Drive has a nice Black finish and a very good texture to the plastic. The Optical Drive is extremely light wight compared to some Optical Drive's out there. It is not easy to review a Optical drive as there is not many characteristics i can judge however the drive's looks alone and it's 22x speed is enough for me.
