Pros: No separate power source needed. Just the one usb cord. Works just like the external cd drive that I had to boot from to install OS's on. Needed dvd for Windows 7 installs on laptops with no dvd drives.
Cons: The usb cord that comes with it could be slightly longer but its not a big deal.
Pros: This unit do what it's supposed to do very well.
Cons: Don't buy at full price cause it's not worth it. 25 $ would be my max bet higher than this I'll consider a unit with burning cpability. Be careful with this unit constructed with '' CheapO PlasticO' Not intended for intense use but who use a lot of CD/DVD media these days?
Cons: I bought this to travel with my netbook. I'm very careful with my stuff but this was broken on the second trip. The case is very delicate and the hinge broke rendering it useless. This will be the last Lite-on I'll buy; its the only brand of optical drive I've had wear out. This didn't get the chance.
Cons: Stopped working exactly a month after I bought it... Still powers up and is recognized as an optical device, but fails to read/mount any disk. Tested in XP, Vista, and Ubuntu 9.04 Linux on 3 separate machines. Tried KG USB, nogo.
