Summary: I had a 5 year + LG burner that finally gave up the ghost, and I chose this unit to be my replacement. Since I beat it up a lot, I hope that I'll get as much use from this one! Always, shop Newegg first, for a quick, easy and no-hassle experience!
Pros: Out of the box, and into my PC, this was a very simple replacement process. I only got what I needed, so the bare bones model was perfect for me. Worked first time, every time!
Cons: No cons that I can think of. Lots of burner for the price!
Summary: I treat CD/DVD/BluRay burners as disposable devices. I expect them to work for a year or so and then die, depending on the amount of burning I do. So, I look for cheap and well-reviewed first.
Pros: Worked on installation using OpenSUSE Linux. Burns and reads CDs, DVDs, and BluRay disks without trouble.
Summary: I would recommend the item because of its cheap and its multi function capability. You will need to do research for software...
Pros: Excellent product though... CD/DVD functions work well using Windows 10. For playing the Blu-ray disc you can use the free LEAWO Blu-ray player and it works great
Cons: Blu-ray software for this unit is hard to find. Burn software is expensive and some don't work as advertised. Cyberlink's product wants to only use HDMI output and didn't work for my display adapter. Still looking for burn software that works...
