LG

Nelson M., Newegg
22 April 2009
  • Pros: Quiet, quick and modern looking. Easy to set up and the Nero software is pretty good.
  • Cons: Lasted two (2) months and had to ship back to LG Repair facility for warranty work. LG customer service was quick and did send out shipping label and RMA to facilitate a quick turn around (keeping my fingers crossed..) The drive stopped working and was no longer recognized as a valid drive. I bel...

Does the job and built like a tank.

Heather A., Newegg
21 February 2009
  • Summary: Good deal for 59.99 shipped.
  • Pros: This cd writer does the job it's supposed to do. I've burned 8 dvd-r's so far @12x speed and all work great. Gives me the option to burn @ 12x, which my old burner would only offer 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x. This will burn dvd-/+ discs @ up to 20x speed. The USB powered models usually only can go up to 8x ...
  • Cons: Pretty big in size, but it's not really a problem.

  • Summary: A definite buy. Used it a lot with my laptop and desktop to burn dvd's. I have not had any problems with any LG product I've ever purchased. I have been using LG products approx 2 years now.
  • Pros: I love this external drive. It works great and I have no problems from it.
  • Cons: It is alittle big, but no bigger than the other LG external drives.

Does what it should

Robert T., Newegg
11 February 2009
  • Summary: Does a good job of what it's supposed to do. I don't have much experience with other external drives, but I could drop this one off a cliff and it would still work.
  • Pros: Great DVD Burner, Fast, Durable, Lightscribe Support, Comes with Nero.
  • Cons: Heavy and Clunky. But no big deal. It Lightscribes the same image slower than my buddy's internal.

A good and cheap external DVD/CD burner with features of more expensive rivals

  • Excerpt: Firstly, I would like to point out that I am firmly against movie piracy and had no intention of planning a DVD copying scam, (I wouldn't know where to start in the first place) but required a re-writable DVD drive to burn home movies created with an HD camera given to me by my parents.

  • Pros: Has the light scribe facility, cheap, reliable  -  Great value for money
  • Cons: Not pleasing to the eye, fairly large and bulky, loud during the burning process

A sleek sexy looking product with Dual Layer and Lightscribe technology

Nigel1, Dooyoo
25 January 2009
  • Excerpt: I bought The LG GSA-E60L external DVD rewriter for three main reasons. Firstly, to add an extra drive to my PC. It is always handy to have an extra drive in my opinion. Secondly. It has "Dual Layer" support meaning that it will allow you to add files and burn films etc. onto dual layer discs.

  • Excerpt: Bought this form a computer fair for £35 to play with . Took out of box and used it with my Vista Home Premium Hp laptop that already had some Lightscribe software on. Worked a treat. Did n't need to refer to instructions and burnt a disc with quite elaborate design. Ver y easy to use.
