Excellent Burner

Anonymous, Newegg
28 January 2009
  • Summary: I use this with my eeePC 1000h, since it didn't have an optical drive built in.
  • Pros: Burner is as small as you could expect and fits well in a pouch in my laptop bag. Using USB for both data and power is a good solution when on the road, provided you have enough free USB ports. Burns as quickly as an internal burner on a minitower. Looks pretty sleek to boot.
  • Cons: Can get a little bit noisy when running at full speed, but seems to be a bit quieter than a lot of full size models that I've come across.

Works as described

Anonymous, Newegg
13 January 2009
  • Summary: Fiance loves it and her little computer.
  • Pros: Don't need to carry around a power cord. Gets all power from USB cord(s). If you are burning, just plug in the second USB cord for extra power.
  • Cons: Silly thing is the same size as the 8.9" Acer Aspire One that I bought it for. But I knew it would be that way. I just think it's funny.

  • Pros: Good drive. No power supply needed.
  • Cons: Needs 2 usb ports for some uses. I have a usb hub so no worries but it could be a factor for some.

Beautiful and works well

Anonymous, Newegg
6 November 2008
  • Summary: I have used this primarily (and heavily) for playing DVDs and audio CDs. I didn't wanna use slot loading drive of my MacBook too much for such heavy duty stuff - as they come with an expiration date.
  • Pros: Sleek and sturdy Looks stunning on desk with my laptop computer Doesn't make too much noise Doesn't require external power supply Put it on a USB hub with other devices like usb keyboard, external hard drive, etc.
  • Cons: None

Perfect with ASUS EEEPC Notebook

JAY N., Newegg
21 October 2008
  • Summary: I don't think other thoughts, far too much work
  • Pros: Both beautifully matched and pefectly performing in my little baby ASUS, just plug and play. No AC external power brick/source used with this one, but you had better make sure that you have two USB plugs open on your system.
  • Cons: A bit pricey

Good little drive.

Paul P., Newegg
16 October 2008
  • Summary: Works without a separate power supply which makes it nice to attach to a notebook running on battery.
  • Pros: Small, lightweight and nice design.
  • Cons: They could have included a case of some kind since it's designed to be portable.

Works suprisingly well

Elliot F., Newegg
15 October 2008
  • Summary: Works well with a Lenovo X61 Tablet running Linux.
  • Pros: Affordable price, no AC adapter, fast enough, low/no vibration, looks nice, decently light.
  • Cons: Could be smaller? The plastic around the actual drive almost doubles the height. Perhaps they did it for durability. That's about as 'con' as it gets, though.
