Summary: I like my LG DVD+/-RW External Drive. First I thought I have to return it! After installation I found out it's not working with Windows 8, it was saying that I have to upgrade it to blue-ray! I talked to LG's office, they told me: if I install VLC media player (it's online & free), I won't have any problem using my DVD/RW drive. Now it has been few months that I am using my LG External Drive without any problem.
Summary: This was everything it promised to be. I plugged, it played, the install disks came in the box & stayed in the box because they were unneeded. The disk drive on my old pc died & I was a little worried because the product was intended for a laptop and had the device not automatically installed, I couldn't have used the disks without a functioning drive--but all went well.
Summary: I purchased this LG portable disc burner from Amazon recently for my iMac computer. I had to burn quite a few discs and my Mac was laboring a bit under the strain. Some disc brands did not seem to burn without a great deal of noise. Hence, this purchase. After using (or trying to use it) for a while, it was "hit and miss." Lately, mostly miss.
Summary: This has met all my expectations. It was all that I needed for the purpose that it called for. I like that it is portable if I need to use it that way. The best of all was the price.thank you I am a constant customer of Amazon and you have not disappointed me yet.
Summary: I bought one in early January, 2012, and yesterday it stopped copying. I should add that this little gadget got an awful lot of use, as I transferred my vinyl tracks to CDs, and copied/recopied literally hundreds of CDs for a project. It worked right out of the box on my Mac, no set-up. Makes fine copies. Just didn't last too long, but again, it did a lot of work for me. My only real complaint is that it's a bit noisy, so I left it cradled in its styrofoam packing.
Summary: I order this to go with a Dell Ultra book with Windows 7. I haven't had any problems. Key things 1. This isn't the best looking external drive. It is kinda blocky. Not a big deal. But it is not "slick looking" to go with the ultra book. 2. you only need to use both USB cords if your USB ports are not powered. 3. It has a cheapy feel to it, but so do most similar devices.
Summary: The software downloaded quickly and i was playing dvds in no time. I like the fact it doesnt need its own power source, but can run off the laptop with the dual usb plugs. I havent expereinced any skipping or problems reading the discs. I have even shook it while the discs were playing and it didnt even phase it. I am pleased with my purchase.
