Summary: I bought this for an ASUS Sabertooth x58 board, but did not realize it didn't have an IDE slot on the board (that was my bad, the price of the drive was just too good to pass up). Bo biggie, swapped with the DVD burner in my old build, and works like a charm.
Summary: I've burned roughly 50 CDs in this at 16X. Many of the resulting CDs skip in multiple players. I've checked the source files on the computer, they play fine. I burned thousands of discs through the stock writer that came in my computer with not a bad one in the bunch. I now have an $18 paperweight.
Pros: My Dell computer recognized and loaded drivers immediately.
Cons: Inconsistent burns, which makes the writer worthless.
