Bluray

R. Webb, Amazon
29 March 2010
  • Summary: I have had this 15 months now and it developed a problem. At the 13 month point, it doesn't always grip the disk placed inside of it and the sound that comes out rom it is like they disk is being ripped up inside of the drive. I have to turn it off and on a number of times as I have it in a external enclosure numerous times to get it to grip. I haven't dropped the enclosure at all.

Vrey goo for blu-ray

Copy man "K", Amazon
25 October 2009
  • Summary: I have had this product for 3 weeks and very happy with it. You must realise that you need a HDCP complient graphics card and monitor for blu-ray movies. Supplied power DVD player gave so much problem but as soon as I replaced with a version 8, it just became a beauty to have.

Crap Software

John B. "newspaniard", Amazon
11 August 2009
  • Summary: To be fair to LG, I have a house full of their products, Washing Machine, Fridge, TV and nary a complaint. Imagine my surprise when this Blu-Ray writer refused to do anything, Blu-Ray, neither read nor write. It was quite happy with DVD and CD but refused to do anything but bring up the Cyberlink `Power DVD' software.

Lets wait and see

Mr. D. Owens "Mr koi", Amazon
16 July 2009
  • Summary: I had already a preinstalled drive on my computer, which gradually stopped working, and my computer is only 18 mths old. When I replaced it with this purchase the drives date was only 2 yrs old. So, I have purchased this and hope it lasts a bit longer. As for the drive itself I had no problem installing it, out with the old in with new and Vista recognised it, install just took a few minutes from opening to working. Quality of playback is excellent.

Good drive

K. Creedon, Amazon
17 June 2009
  • Summary: Have just upgraded my computer and was pleased to include this drive. All seems well so far. Haven't tried the lightscribe yet but so far have burnt DVD's & Blu-ray disks. It lost a star because the blank LG Blu-ray-RE disk that comes with it does not work in this drive!!! After much head scratching I purchased a Sony Blu-ray-RE disk. At £7 including postage I was worried that the drive might be faulty and that this new Sony disc may go the same way as the LG one.
