The LG GGC-H20L BD-ROM drive supports playback of a number of media types including BD-ROM, BD-R, BD-RE, BDMV, HD DVD-ROM< HD DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, and CD-DA. It offers a maximum read of 40x for CDs, 16x for DVD-ROMs, 3x for HD DVD-ROMs, and 6x for BD-ROMs.

For writing, the LG GGC-H20L supports DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, CD-R, and CD-RW. It offers a write speed of 40x for CDs, 6x for DVD-Rs, and 4x for DVD-R DLs.
