  • Summary: Use one of those eye glasses type cleaning cloths to wipe it down so it doesn't scratch. Also, if you're using a Mac, go to MacUpdate, and look for the LaCie Lightscribe app, it's free and is probably all you'll ever need to LightScribe your disks with, full-featured and easy to use.
  • Pros: Quite operation, burns and reads fast, looks pretty. Nice large, thick, and soft, rubber feet keep it stable. Internal vibration dampening system. Overall build quality seems sturdy. Very long AC adapter cord. No annoying superbright LED, it's small and green and won't kill your night-vision.
  • Cons: A little larger (longer) than I thought it was going to be. After you peel off the protective plastic film, you realize it's got a very shiny black plastic piano finish that covers the top, front and back (where the plugs are), that attracts fingerprints and scratches. Windows only software. Ugly...

  • Summary: I would purchase another one of these if it goes on sale again.
  • Pros: Price, Durability I bought the GE20LU20 version of this product (recertified) which works great. Build is durable and not cheap. I has an auto update utility that is TSR and sits in the system tray, but this can be disabled once you receive the latest updates...
  • Cons: Power DVd softwarencomes packaged with the unit and plays DVDs automatically as the default unless you do some extensive configuration. This does not have to be installed
