Summary: I purchasd 2 of these drives around a year ago & meant to submit review before now - shame on me. Both drives work just fine on my PC. They run quiet & burns all media including Blu-Ray like it is supposed to!
Pros: This drive works great with IMGBURN, DVDFab8! I use this drive with generic BD-Rs and it burns just fine - you don't have to spend $2 - $3+ for blank media! I usually find them for $1 or less here on Newegg or elsewhere on the 'Net, just look around.
Cons: Even though I've been to LG's commercial website, the best firmware update I could get was up to v1.00830. I was hoping to use the BH10LS30 update, but it doesn't see the drive to update it. I don't have any problems with the present firmware, so no complaints about that. I also wish that I could...
Summary: Search online for BD9 or BD5, this drive (and probably all BD burners) can burn HD video onto a standard DVD in bluray format, which is really cool. Gotta be a little computer savvy to get it done, but really cool if you have a big old stock of DVD-R's.
Pros: It just burns. Different burning speeds are all good, takes Verbatim 2.4x BD-R's no problem, not sure about other media - plays BD and DVD no problem. Good reliable burner. I bought when price was much higher, def worth it even more now.
Cons: If I had to nit pick, button on front could be better, it's semi-awkward, but not worth an egg.
