Summary: Needed to install old programs onto my new slim laptop. Installation went without a problem. Played a Blu-ray movie with no problems. Have not tried to burn any disc yet. It is compact and easy to carry in computer bag. No problems so far.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Very Disappointed, LG Electronics Ratings and Reviews

Summary: A terrible, overpriced product. It will not play some discs I have played on numerous other devices. When it does play a movie, there often are so many annoying stutters and pauses that I have to shut it off. And it absolutely will not play Blu-ray discs, despite the claims. Considering that this is one of the main reasons I bought it, that’s a major drawback. I tried patching the software that came with it many times, but that didn’t work.
Summary: This player will hardly run a disk if there is the the most minute speck of anything on the disk it will not play clean the disk 5 times and maybe it will play likely it will not the disk I am trying to play is new I have only played 6 disk with this player as no other disk will play
Summary: Received it in the mail. Device worked with plug and pkay. Loaded the software tat came with it, Played DVD and Blu-ray right off the bat. Great pictures but that is due to my screen resolution.
Summary: Installed on my unibody Macbook. Playback is smooth and drive is very quiet. It did require finding and installing separate 3rd party bluray hardware. This would have been a perfect purchase if I didn't have to buy additional playback software for the Mac OSX.
Pros: White and black drive. Its an easy set up. Installed the blu ray suite software that came with it. Had some trouble getting the PowerDVD 10 to play my blu rays so I got ToatalMedia Theatre 6 which plays them flawlessly. Maybe since my compute doesn't have the graphics cards suggested but I got the drive because I got a HDD caddy and put a SSHD in the place of the DVD drive so I decided to go with a blu ray player. But TMT6 is working great with the drive and seems to ...
Cons: I couldn't bring myself to take away an egg because of the useless program player
Summary: The bundled software that comes with this product is PowerDVD10, which does not support the blu ray format on Windows 8. It might be ok if you are still using 7, but it's old software anyway. PowerDVD is up to version 13 now. If you buy this reader and try to play a blu ray disk on Windows 8, you will have to either pay $89 for PowerDVD12 or find a cracked version, which isn't as easy as you might think. Again, do not buy this product!
