Summary: First one arrived in a jiffy bag so I didn't hold out too much hope of it working OK (head azimuth and all that), and so it proved. I couldn't get it to read CD/DVD or Blue Ray discs, let alone write any. So I asked for a replacement, and if anybody has gone through this process, you'll know it's not the easiest. The second one arrived before the faulty one was collected, this time in a box.
Summary: I bought this Blu-Ray player after reading all the good reviews here and on the internet. While it burned DVDs successfully, I had limited success using Blu-Ray BD-R Verbatim discs. After a number of attempts, and using different software I managed to burn two discs. After that it started throwing up all sorts of errors. Eventually I gave up and replaced it with a Pioneer BDR-205BK which, touch wood, is working perfectly.
Summary: Tried two different versions of this burner (same model), same result - stalled at 33%. Tried the Pioneer BDR-205BK with the same software on the same computer - absolutely fine. Worth spending the extra if you can as the general consensus is that Pioneer make the best ones.
