Pros: Region selection up to 5 times (DVD and BDR), Stable drivers, Cyberlink accompanying software when coupled with Ultra 10 upgrade = excellent playback of Blu-ray titles. Data Burner speeds are adequate, burns and reads double layer BDRW and BDR .
Cons: Minimal Technical support. Blu-ray titles require Cyberlink ultra-10 upgrade.
Pros: fast reads of DVDs, installed Windows 7 and a bunch of applications. Can't say much about burn speed, it hasn't completed a burn yet!
Cons: Customer support available for "computer products" during regular bussiness hours on weekdays . Customer support lumps this product with computer hardware not consumer electronics. Tried to burn a video file, froze with no explaination.
Summary: technology is getting developed from day to day so we should also travel with it. well we wont see dvd in near by future . and only Blu-ray rules so a must buy product. . a little too expensive but they do mean it.
Brilliant on vista but its a paper weight on Win 8

Summary: Up until I upgraded my os I loved this drive never had a problem. Since I upgraded I cant even get windows to recognise it, it literally wont find it its as if its not even there I can find it in the BIOS connected through the sata drive but that is the only sign of it being there. I have looked for hours on the web and found no sign of a fix.
