Summary: I bought this external CD Drive because my gaming computer has no slot for an internal CD Drive. I really like the look of this one though, it's probably one of the more attractive ones I came across that was actually in my price range. It's been working great the month or two that I've had it, but I do have one minor complaint. The usb cable provided could be a little longer.
Excerpt: This product I could not use with my Macbook. Downloaded the software and tried to play movies and it was skipping and freezing the entire time. But my primary use was for burning CDs of pictures to give to clients and it was a fail. Ended up going with the Mac version! So much simplier and smooth. I am sure it would work great with a PC but this, in my experiene, was not easy to use and did not work properly on my Mac.
Pros: Looks Cool
Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Incompatible With My System, Slow
Summary: I used it for a fresh install of an operating system upgrade on a laptop. The installation would frequently hang as if there were a driver issue. Once I got the OS running and was able to install the software that came with the DVD player the rest of the installation went smoothly. The drive makes a clicking sound when it's running, which I don't like.
Summary: It uses 2 USB ports, 1 for data and 1 for extra power. If your laptop/desktop has 2 free USB ports next to each other this will work well. For a zenbook prime this is useless because it only has 1 USB port on each side, you need longer cables not provided.
