Pros: Surprising, Newegg did such a good job of packing this burner in bubble wrap, it actually took a little effort to unwrap. Installed in a Win 8 newly built computer and was recognize immediate, and burned a dvd disc which completed and verified successfully. Truthfully, this burner is really quiet even at 16X max burn, I was even surprised. It came with a driver CD with Power2Go8,E-green and firmware update.
Cons: No cons, except the Power2Go software did install, I rebooted and tried to use it by clicking any icons but none opened up. Maybe, its not Win 8 compatible but looks like a decent piece of software, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, still the same issue. Not a Newegg problem, so no egg deduction from me.
Cons: I didn't notice until after the one month warranty was up that it doesn't write ISO images very well. I kept blaming it on the downloaded image until I burnt the same Image on a different burner and saw during verification that many of the sectors weren't readable on the Asus but just fine on the other burner. And both burners are on the same computer.
