Summary: Not sure how this has so many good reviews but maybe I just had bad luck. I don't know. I get the best seller thing because of it's low price but really? It came in terrible packaging (just a plastic bag in a box) and would not read any disks upon installation. It turned on but that was about it.
Summary: Well.... This is the first review I've ever typed about a product, and I'm sorry that it's a negative one. Where to start, Oh yes. The drive wouldn't open. I literally had to wedge something in it, and afterwards it wouldn't read my windows 7 disk. That was an instant red flag.
Summary: Was looking forward to using this to add to my system. Unfortunately.. it was DOA (Dead-on-arrival). After install made system hang. DVD tray would not open. Defective unit. Sending it back for a refund. Hope this was a fluke.. but will look for another DVD drive just not this one.
Summary: I'm Sitting here about 5 weeks after purchase. The Dvd drive is detected by windows 8. But will not read disc. What a piece of garbage. If you want a hot piece of garbage. Buy this. Please do NOT buy!
Summary: I'm in no doubt that the drive itself is good, however this review is actually a warning against STICK PRICE. They sold me a used drive as new. Most people wouldn't bother to register an optical drive, but I sure tried too.
Summary: Our Business has been successfully building computers for just over fifteen years. We often have used various products from ASUS and there products are good quality. Unfortunately if you ever have to contact support then watch out.
Summary: I have had mixed success with other hardware that Microsoft Web site says will install on Windows 7 64bit. I was pleased that this DVD Writer installed automatically. It initially worked perfectly.
